Dear STERETT Family, it is with a broken heart that I convey that CAPT Richard P. Genet, USN(Ret.), DLG/CG-31’s 13th Commanding Officer, passed away Christmas Eve. He meant so much to me and those of us that he called his “First Team” during his tenure from 1986-1988. I am in shocked by the news and truly saddened to hear of his passing. Rest in peace Captain, you did well Sir.
